Yin qi 陰氣

The passive, heavy, drawing pole of qi. It does not come in with the breath: Mo Pai holds that it is absorbed upward from the earth through contact at hui yin, and only while the practitioner is deep in the sitting — which is the whole reason the method insists on bare ground. Level 1 gathers it; level 3 fuses it with yang qi. See The Ground.
