This entry is a reconstruction. Mo Pai publishes no curriculum for level 28, so what appears above is drawn from the classical stage this band corresponds to — the body-refining register of lian qi hua shen — the "washing" and "changing" literature — and from the shape the Mo Pai literature implies for the "Purification of the Vessel" band. It is a map of the territory that tradition describes, written by this archive and not taken from the lineage.
Practice
- Reconstructed from the classical body-refinement material: xi sui (洗髓), washing the marrow, and yi jin (易筋), changing the sinew. The method described is not new work but continued work — the same sitting, with the refined qi said to reach tissue it could not reach before, in the order bone marrow, sinew, bone, blood.
- Alongside it the corpus places the two reported physiological changes this band is named for: tai xi, foetal breathing, and bi gu, the setting aside of grain. Both are described as things that happen to a practitioner at this stage rather than exercises to be attempted.

Not published. Teacher-verified, as at every level below — and unverifiable here in a second sense, since the classical account below is not Mo Pai's.
Obstacles
- The plateau. The literature warns that this passage produces no dramatic sign for years, and that the practitioners lost here are lost to boredom and to the suspicion that nothing is happening.
- Old illness surfacing. The classical accounts describe latent conditions being driven out as the refinement reaches deeper tissue — and are candid that some practitioners are simply ill instead.
- Attempting bi gu deliberately. Starvation imitates the sign without producing the state, and the tradition's own texts say so.
